Topic

With the average tenure of school superintendents getting shorter, it’s inevitable that you’ll find yourself working with several new superintendents over the course of your career. A change in leadership is never easy, but there are things you can do and strategies to implement that will help ease the transition, both for the new superintendent, staff, the community (and you!). Learn how develop a transition plan designed to instill trust, rebuild morale, engage stakeholders, lay a foundation for leadership success, and cement your role as a strategic advisor.

Panelists: Tierney Tinnin, senior communications and community relations officer, Oklahoma City (Okla.) Public Schools; and Nez Calhoun, APR, director of public information, Jefferson County BOE, Birmingham, Ala.

Moderator: Frank Kwan, APR, director, communication, emergency preparedness and response, Los Angeles County Office of Education, Downey, Calif.
