MinnSPRA Mentor Experience

Mentoring and the connection between colleagues has long been a hallmark of MinnSPRA. Each of us who has chosen a career in school public relations has relied on other colleagues to learn what we need to know to be successful. The primary purpose of the MinnSPRA Mentor Experience is to provide support, learning, and professional growth opportunities to members within the organization (and new to the profession). Participants are paired with a veteran school PR professional for support and collegiality. In addition, the program provides opportunities to:
•• Build relationships with new members that last beyond the mentor year
•• Provide a foundation for colleagues to reflect on their practice as communicators
•• Develop a program where both mentor and mentee are accountable for learning
•• Connect new members more quickly with MinnSPRA and NSPRA

MinnSPRA will again offer this opportunity to just 10 new professionals for the coming year – at no cost! If you would like to be part of this program register today as spaces to be paired with a mentor are limited.

Deadline for registrations is Wednesday, Oct. 26. A special event will be held in conjunction with the Fall Conference on either Nov. 10 or 11 for the Mentor Experience to kick-off for the 2012 year.

If you have questions about this opportunity, please contact Barbara Brown, President-elect at 651-458-6209 – bbrown6@sowashco.k12.mn.us. Or click here for an application.
